Where and when were you born?

I was born close to my mother in Shawano Wisconsin after Elvis was born.

When did you get into radio and why?

I got into radio because it was a chance for me, as an extremely shy kid to express myself without having to face the person. This was in high school. And, I also saw it as a way to escape the “Payton Place” type of town that was Shawano. That was in the year 1960.

When did your relationship with Jesus start?

I believe when I was confirmed in the Lutheran church in eighth grade … however it was only Jesus who was faithful in that relationship till after much seeking on our part, found out that we even could HAVE a relationship. Then my wife, Mickie, and I together turned our lives over to Jesus and have since tried in our own small way to serve Him. That was in 1987, and that’s also when I got into Christian radio.

Where is the favorite place you’ve lived?

Hands down, Miami (cause that’s where I met Mickie … the love of my life)

What is your best childhood memory?

It was the love I had from grandparents and parents … love I never doubted.

What sports team (if any) do you always root for?

The Kansas City Chiefs and now the Miami Dolphins, because of their Christian quarterback Trent Green.

Who is your current favorite musician?

Mercy Me, and the song “I Can Only Imagine”.

Other than the Bible, what book are you reading now?

Tony Dungy’s new book “Quiet Strength”.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Wherever our new granddaughter is living … right now it’s Kansas City.

What vacation spot have you always wanted to go to, but haven’t yet?

London or Paris

What would be a perfect Friday night for you or your family?

Spending time with the bride (Mickie) and then if the two kids call and they are well. We usually go to a Mexican restaurant, and then spend all day Saturday recovering from the heartburn.

What is your favorite food?

Baby Back Ribs where the sauce is Kansas City Masterpiece and the meat just falls off the bones. Outside of K.C., the only one who has been able to pull that off is my sweet Mickie.

Do you have any pets?

We are the proud parents of a dog named Daisy. We named her after the BB Gun. She thinks she’s human and she hates other dogs.
