Where were you born?
Waukegan, Illinois, just north of Chicago, June of 1968.
When did you get into radio and why?
Just this year. I’ve been listening to WAY Radio for about 8 years, and when I saw an opportunity to join the radio ministry here, I had to do it!
When did your relationship with Jesus start?
Well, He’s always stood at the door of my heart and knocked, and while I remember saying a prayer as a teenager, I didn’t accept Him as Lord of my life until about 10 years ago. It took the birth of my son for me to truly understand a father/son relationship, and He stirred my heart to see Him as my Heavenly Father.
Where is the favorite place you’ve lived?
Middleburg is home for us, and I love being home. I grew up in Middleburg.
What is your best childhood memory?
I grew up with a golf-crazy family, so I have a lot of fond memories related to golf.... and crazy people.
What sports team do you always root for?
I like the Jaguars and the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Cubs, and the Middleburg High School Broncos. My son likes the Kansas City Chiefs, so they’re growing on me.
Who is your current favorite musician?
I like a few, with different styles: Evidence, Casting Crowns, Pastor Alan Floyd, Mercy Me, and the Jud Kossum Band when I’m feeling rowdy!
Other than the Bible, what book are you reading now?
Right now, just the Bible, but my buddy has recommended Tony Dungy’s book, so I’ll probably start that soon.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
As long as I’m with my family, anywhere is OK!
What vacation spot have you always wanted to go to, but haven’t yet?
We’d like to go to the Grand Canyon. Hawaii might be OK, too!
What would be a perfect Friday night for you or your family?
Like Luke Stephens, a walk on the beach to walk off a good meal, but a perfect night would also involve finding a bar of gold!
What is your favorite food?
A really good steak cooked medium rare, loaded baked potato, salad with blue cheese dressing, and strawberry ice cream for dessert. Now I’m hungry...
Do you have any pets?
We have a cat that thinks he’s a dog. We also have a spoiled little poodle that thinks she’s a baby. All we’re missing is a rat that thinks he’s a chef.
